Description

In this hands-on camp, students will have a blast exploring the science of food using everyday kitchen ingredients. This kid-safe class will build confidence in the kitchen and in the science lab as we use different measuring tools, knead dough, read recipes, and explore the science of food. We will develop a hypothesis, conduct experiments, and record our results using the Scientific Method. Activities include both edible and non-edible food experiments. We will make ice cream in a bag, color-changing potions, salt dough ornaments, energy bites, pizza dough, density columns, explore many fizzy reactions, and much more in this exciting week of camp.

Camp led by Ms. Brenna, one of our STEAM enrichment teachers who holds certifications in Plant-Based Nutrition and cooking from T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies eCornell. Brenna has been experimenting with food in the kitchen since she was in elementary school and has a passion for working with kids. She will be sure to make this class silly and fun.

Please include any allergies upon registering. Ms. Brenna will do her best to accommodate for allergies and adjust recipes as needed.
