The Whole Child Chess Club teaches students lots of skills that go far beyond the board. Our Chess Club uses engaging stories to teach and reinforce the important rules and strategies students need to become seasoned chess professionals. It is a fun and engaging way to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, all while improving focus and concentration.
Our program encourages strategic planning and patience, helping children develop perseverance and the ability to think ahead. Beyond the cognitive advantages, chess also teaches valuable life lessons in sportsmanship and resilience, empowering your child to handle challenges with confidence. Give your child the opportunity to grow academically and personally through the enriching experience of chess.
Students are split by experience and skill level into 3 groups: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
Our advanced teacher has a score of 2000, he goes to UCSD and is in the top 99% of chess ratings online. He is an Eagle Scout and the kids really enjoy him.
Every student receives a trophy on the last day of class after a tournament.
